Miss Paladino

Kindergarten Team

Hello and Welcome Wildcats! My name is Miss Paladino and I am so excited for a fabulous school year together. I graduated from Florida Southern College with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and a minor in Graphic Design and then completed my  Masters degree in Curriculum Instruction. I have completed the comprehensive training for Orton-Gillingham, a multi-sensory approach to teaching reading. I absolutely love teaching kindergarten and I am so proud to be part of the McKeel family.  Kindergarten is going to be such an exciting and wonderful experience and I look forward to a great year with you!!

Monthly Character Skill

Each month, our school focuses on a character skill.  If your child goes above and beyond in this area and his/her friends see them display this trait throughout the day, they may earn a ticket.  Several tickets per grade level are drawn at the end of the month for prizes, such as gift cards to some of their favorite places.  Talk to your child about how he or she can show this character trait at school.

Scholastic Book Club Orders

To order online please go to www.scholastic.com/bookclubs or write a check payable to Scholastic Book Club and send it into school with your child's order form. Please do not send cash.

Students are responsible to practice their red words every night and be read to or read for at least 20 minutes a night.

I will not be assigning “homework” that needs to be turned in unless we are working on a fun project.

Weekly Newsletter

Please check your e-mail for our weekly newsletter.

Red Words

To the right side of the screen, I have placed a file that lists all of the sight words (also known as high frequency words)   that your child needs to be able to read fluently (without sounding out) by the end of the year. Your child will be tested frequently on these words so please try to spend a few minutes each night, reviewing these words to help your child read smoothly.

Snacks and Water Bottles

Don't forget to send your child with a snack (packed separately from the lunchbox) and a water bottle to school each day.
