One of my favorite quotes upon graduating from school over 10 years ago has been and still remains to be this by Howard Gardner: “It’s not how smart are you, but how are you smart?”  This quote holds near and dear to my heart especially after having had the pleasure of working with many special children who have had unique talents, tender hearts, and who have inspired me to continue to learn and grow within my profession.   It is through professional growth opportunities that I have learned how to skillfully work with children in a variety of ways.

I have lived in Florida since 2003 and began my teaching career at that time.  I graduated from Dowling College of NYS with my Bachelor’s Degree majoring in both Special Education and General Education.   I have also completed my Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership through Jones International University.   During my time working in the education field, I have had the opportunity to work as a classroom teacher and behavioral specialist at the school level as well as a Program Specialist at the district level.   These opportunities have given me great experiences and have paved the way for me here at South McKeel Academy as the new LEA Faciliator/Coordinator and ESE teacher.  I am so excited to be a part of the South McKeel Academy family and I look forward to getting to know each and every child. Please stop by to say hello when you can because I would love to meet you and introduce myself in person!!  GOOOOO WILDCATS!!
