7th Grade Team

Greetings Wildcats!  I am extremely excited to begin another year with my SMA family.  Although I have been teaching young minds for the past seventeen years, my teaching philosophy became instilled in me at a very young age as my parents were educators in the Polk County Public Schools for over forty years.  I value the difference teachers make in the lives of the children they teach;  understand what dedicated teachers in a good school offer children; and appreciate the value of a good education.  With the support of my amazing husband, fabulous sons, and phenomenal SMA team, I look forward to an AMAZING year in seventh grade!

Social Studies

This year our main focus will be on the United States government - its origin, its structure, and the responsibilities of citizens. At the end of the year, students will take a state assessment covering each Florida Standard.  I encourage each student to focus during instruction, engage in class conversation, participate in class activities and projects, and study at home.  May this year be our best year yet!
