Archery Club 3rd & 4th Grade (Spring Semester)
Have you ever wanted to learn how to shoot a bow & arrow? Well now is your chance! We are excited to offer archery club starting on Jan. 9th here at SMA. This club will teach the values of patience, precision and concentration. This is a sport that is enjoyed around the world. We are going to learn the history behind archery, the basics of archery, & the discovery of the "fun factor" archery brings. We also have new 3-D animal targets to learn/discover the art of bow hunting. However, due to safety protocols, students will be instructed to follow strict safety rules & failure to adhere to these rules will result in dismissal from the club. This club will be for 3rd & 4th Graders Only. We will meet on Tuesdays from 3:-4:30 pm for a FULL SEMESTER so our last date will be on May 21st for the 2nd semester.

Cooking Club will be held on Wednesday's from 4-5:30 at What's Cooking located at 6935 S Carter Rd Suite 6/7, Lakeland, FL 33813. Parents are responsible for transportation to and from What's Cooking.

Bricks 4 Kidz is an educational based program focused on introducing children to principles of science, technology, engineering and architecture. Through the use of lab-focused exercises, utilizing LEGO® Bricks, the children have the ability to learn, create and explore. This after school club will be offered for students in grades 2-5. This club will be held on Mondays 3:15-4:15.

Do you like to be outside in nature? Do you love to explore & investigate things found in nature? Boy, is this the club for you! The outdoor club is the opportunity to not only be outside exploring but the chance to see all of the amazing things that our FL environment offers. In this club you will get the opportunity to do some hiking, investigations of insects/wildlife, exploring macroinvertebrates, learn about biodiversity, & so much more. We will meet on Wednesdays beginning on Jan. 10th from 3:15pm-4:30pm for 9wks & hike to Holloway Park across the street from South Mckeel Academy. This club is for grades 4-6 only. Students are required to be picked up at Holloway Park so please note that when signing your child up for this club.

In our club, students in grades 4-6 will discover the joys of pickleball, a fun and fast-paced paddle sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and ping-pong. Our club sponsors will create a supportive and engaging environment, where students of all skill levels can develop their hand-eye coordination, agility, and teamwork. Join us on Tuesday afternoons from 3:15-4:30 for a fantastic opportunity to make new friends, stay active, and cultivate a lifelong love for this thrilling sport!

Do you know how to hand sew or use a sewing machine? Want to learn? McKeel’s sewing club will teach you how to use basic hand stitches and how to use a sewing machine. You will have the chance to create several sewing crafts such as pillowcases/pajamas, learn the ins/outs of the sewing machine, & so much more. This is a SEMESTER LONG club so please note that when signing up. Our time together for this semester will begin Jan. 8th & end May 20th. All levels of experience are welcome. We will meet Monday in Ms. Jacques' Classroom (C304) from 3:30-4:30pm. This club is for 4th-6th graders.

Grades 3-5
STEM4Girls is geared towards girls in grades 3-5 who want to explore engineering, coding, digital animation and more in a fun, friendly environment. Club members will use the engineering design process to complete challenges like building a puff mobile and a lego marble run. We will also use play doh, legos, small toys, and expo markers to create stop animation movies. Finally, we will design, program and print 3D models using Blockscad. Club members will learn to see themselves as engineers, computer scientists, and digital animators as they build sisterhood in a safe and supportive setting.
