Sara Giles
Hello Families! I am quite excited about this year’s adventure. Getting to know students and their families each year brings a lot of joy to my heart. I love to see a child’s face light up when they grasp a new concept, grow and learn. Something we learned this year is IDKSAE. Having children recognize that they “do know something about everything,†allows them to realize there is always a place to begin as we take what we know, expand our knowledge and “grow our brainsâ€. Third grade is sure to be full of things your children have been exposed to previously as we think a little deeper and add some really cool, new items to their educational brain bank!
Allow me to share a bit of history regarding my educational background and certifications. I graduated from the University of South Florida with a degree in Early Childhood Education. This certified me to teach Pre-K through Third Grade. I later added Elementary Education expanding my certification through Sixth Grade. Additionally, I have my ESOL endorsement. I began my teaching career in Bradenton, FL teaching Pre-K with Varying Exceptionalities and Kindergarten both at Magnet and Private Schools. Upon moving to Lakeland, I substituted within the Schools of McKeel Academy. I was later blessed to teach Second Grade at McKeel Academy Central. A few years later, I transferred to South McKeel Academy and taught First Grade. After my third child, I again chose to substitute throughout the Schools of McKeel.
While at home I enjoy time with my husband and three children. My husband and I are thankful for two amazing boys and our youngest daughter. All began their educational journeys at McKeel. Our oldest boy is a Senior, while the other is a Freshman and last but not least, our daughter, is a Second Grader at South McKeel Academy. Although we have a bit of Florida Gator and South Florida Bull in us, you can see we are all truly McKeel Wildcats at heart. Go Wildcats!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Giles
