jeremybohnenstiehl@mckeelschools.com

Welcome to Sixth Grade!! This is my seventh year teaching here at South McKeel Academy and I previously taught 4th grade in Polk County for 10 years. Along with teaching here at SMA, I am the head tennis coach for the McKeel boys team. I am originally from Illinois and I received a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville. I will be teaching Comprehensive Science and my elective course which I will teach is Sports Science.  I am so very excited to get to know each and every one of my students and guide them to a successful year!

Behavior Expectations

Because The Schools of McKeel Academy recognizes and values its role in developing employable adults, an emphasis is placed on helping students build a portfolio of skills essential to success in the classroom and in the future workforce.  These expectations not only ensure an orderly and efficient classroom, they also encourage students to be responsible, accountable, respectful and empathetic to others.  Coaching is provided throughout the year by faculty and staff as well as peer "House Leaders".

1.  Follow directions.

2.  Takes responsibility for own actions; demonstrates self control.

3.  Completes and submits quality classwork.

4.  Listens respectfully and acknowledges the thinking of others.

5. Displays best effort.

6.  Uses technology in accordance with school policies.

Sports Science Elective

I am excited to teach Sports Science as an elective course! This course will discuss the following topics: sportsmanship, proper nutrition, weight training, forms of sports, and how science relates to every sport a child may play. Along with this, I plan on having some guest speakers such as the Flying Tigers, Lakeland Tropics, Lakeland Magic, etc come in and discuss what it takes to succeed in and out of the classroom!!! If you have any questions, please email me.

Agenda and Cat Card

Agenda should have a parent signature every Friday of the previous week. I will be checking for signatures on Monday mornings.
