Lisa Hancock
Assistant Principal
Whether you are brand new to the McKeel family this year or you’ve been a part for a long time,I am excited about the year ahead with you at South McKeel! My name is Lisa Hancock and I have the pleasure of being the assistant principal of kindergarten through third grades. While the first three years of my educational career began in a small rural elementary school here in Lakeland, I have spent the last twenty years with McKeel.
The University of South Florida is where I earned my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and would later return to obtain a master’s in Educational Leadership. During my time at McKeel, I have had the opportunity to be a classroom teacher in 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th grades, and have also served as an ESE facilitator/teacher and an academic advisor. This year will be my fourth year as an assistant principal and I am certain it will be the best year yet!
It is no surprise that as a member of the House of Altruist, I am passionate about building positive relationships with students, families, and staff. I believe cultivating deep connections between students and teachers will open pathways for student growth both academically and socially, and developing a team of educators who strive to reach the whole child will ensure success for all. Looking forward to an awesome year ahead, Wildcats!
