Lisa Hancock

Principal

Whether you are brand new to the McKeel family or have been a valued part of our community for many years, I am thrilled to welcome you to another exciting year at South McKeel Academy. My name is Lisa Hancock, and it is my honor to serve as the Principal of South McKeel.

As a proud member of the House of Altruist, I am deeply passionate about building strong, positive relationships with students, families, and staff. I believe that meaningful connections between students and educators create powerful opportunities for both academic and social growth. By fostering a collaborative team of educators who are dedicated to educating the whole child, we can ensure success for every student.

I earned my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of South Florida and later returned to USF to obtain a master’s degree in Educational Leadership. The first three years of my teaching journey began at Kathleen Elementary School. In 2004, I joined The Schools of McKeel Academy, and since then, McKeel has truly become home.

During my time at McKeel, I have had the privilege of serving our students and families in many roles. I have been a classroom teacher at McKeel Academy Central in grades 2 through 6, an ESE facilitator, an academic advisor, and most recently, an assistant principal at South McKeel. Each experience has shaped my leadership and strengthened my commitment to student success. As I step into the role of principal, I am excited and confident that this will be our best year yet.

I look forward to partnering with our incredible school community and leading South McKeel toward another outstanding year. Go Wildcats!
