Wilma Viers
Reading Interventionist
Welcome Wildcats!! I earned my Degree in Education from Florida Southern College and have had the privilege of teaching and learning with my students for 26 years. I have taught second and third grade at South McKeel where I was also the K-5 literacy specialist, coaching teachers and providing demonstration lessons. Last year I was blessed to attend the Institute for Multi-sensory Education (imse) and earned a certification in the Orton-Gillingham method of teaching reading. I also earned my National Board for Professional Teaching Standards Certification. "Books to the ceiling, Books to the sky, My pile of books is a mile high. How I love them! How I need them!" -- Arnold Lobel. These words express my feelings about reading and helps me understand if I want kids to be better readers, they must read not just to answer questions but to raise their own questions. I look forward to making a positive difference in the lives of your child by providing an atmosphere that encourages a desire to discover and question.
"Courage is resistance to fear, mastery of fear, not absence of fear." ~Mark Twain
